Accept – Blood of the Nations (2010) Maximum Threshold Radio Review
by: Dom R.

This has to be one of my most anticipated release this year and the snippets that were leaked out this year leading up to the "Blood of The Nations" release were exceptionally promising. With that said I was expecting something in the same vein but even better. Yes, I had high expectations and I think this one promised to deliver.

With the addition of TT Quick’s vocalist Mark Tornillo he assumes the role of taking over where Udo left. Media and fans alike already had preconceived notions that Mark would have to be a “superstar” to give the fans the old Accept sound and feel. And many will not budge on giving Mark the time of day.

When I first heard the opening track "Beat The Bastards" I immediately felt the old Accept sound ooze into my pores. The band is completely solid and is a no doubt great into track into this metal rendezvous. Keep an eye out for the track "Locked and Loaded" and be prepared to have your ears melted off! The guitars throughout the release provides much punch, deliverance and the solo’s in every song is right on and total props for where they were going. If you are wondering what the styles of sounds you can hear in this one it would be simple, the power metal from the 80’s. You definitely get the feel of the Scorpions, Queensryche (a little/ early) Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, and maybe Armored Saint. It is sorta hard to pinpoint, but all I can say is that the band is where is left off at and is well on its way to bringing Accept back to the forefront. Note, the new Accept does give you the strong harmonies in the chorus that you can remember from all the old Accept songs.

Listen to
"Blood of the Nations” track and you will feel like you just stepped onto a time machine.

Overall, I believe this release provides a promising future and hope everyone gives Mark Tornillo a chance to grow on you and really let the new release Accept : Blood of the Nations infect you. Accept is back and this is something all metalheads have been waiting for. Now get off your ass and get your copy now before they are all sold out!
